Erin Goettlicher joined the Beyond Sports team in February of 2009 in efforts to expand into women’s sports. Goettlicher brings experience in fastpitch softball at the professional, collegiate, and youth levels. Her knowledge and reputation within the sport has helped to develop the first ever networking site for softball, www.thesoftballnetwork.com.
Goettlicher currently operates Pro Softball Training where she conducts clinics, offers consulting for teams and organizations, and gives private lessons. Before starting her own, Goettlicher was Director of Softball Operations, at Diamond Elite Training where she was in charge of all aspects of the business.
Goettlicher most recently coached professionally for the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) Washington Glory during the 2007 and 2008 seasons. While assisting Head Coach, Carie Dever-Boaz, the Glory won the NPF Championship series in their inaugural season. Goettlicher is the only coach in the NPF to hold two Championship rings. In addition, they received 2007 NPF Coaching Staff of the Year honors. In 2008, the Glory compiled another impressive season going all the way to the NPF Championship game before being defeated and finishing as the runner-up. During the off-season, Goettlicher assisted the general manager with promotional events, and organized camps and clinics.
Before joining the Glory, Goettlicher served as an assistant at Georgetown University, who were in the midst of their second year as a varsity softball program.
In 2006, Goettlicher served as an Assistant Coach under Head Coach, Sharon Drysdale with the NPF champion, New England Riptide, where she was responsible for managing the on-field development, strategy, and execution of the softball program.
Prior to her time with the Riptide, Goettlicher spent five seasons as an Assistant Coach at the University of Toledo. With the Rockets, she spent the 2005-06 season as the primary hitting instructor, leading three student-athletes to All-MAC honors, and directing the Rockets to what was then the highest team slugging percentage in program history.
The Mankato, MN, native played for the Akron Racers in the inaugural season of the NPF in 2004. In addition, she has operated several camps and clinics with the Washington Nationals, Georgetown, Toledo, and Minnesota State-Mankato.
An active member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), Goettlicher was one of the first three Division I coaches to complete certification in the NFCC 4 Star Master Coaching program.
Furthermore, Goettlicher has been instrumental with the growth of the sport in her hometown of Mankato, MN. For five years, Goettlicher worked as an Assistant Player Development Coach for the Mankato Area Girls Fastpitch Association, while also spending a year as the Head Coach of the Mankato Peppers, a 12U traveling team.
A 2001 graduate of Minnesota State University-Mankato, Goettlicher was a four-year letter-winner for the Mavericks as she earned her degree in human performance/physical education. A four-year starter at first base, Erin received second team and first-team all-region honors as a sophomore and junior, respectively. She also was an All-North Central Conference selection following her junior and senior campaigns.
